Use Google Voice Search On Your iPhone With VoiceSearch (Cydia Tweak)

There has been some sort of a controversy going on about whether android’s Google voice search shows better performance than the Apple’s personal assistant, Siri. There isn’t really any clear cut answer to this. However, if you feel that you rather depend on Google voice search to do the job, then let me tell you that you can now do so with your iPhone through the new jailbreak tweak VoiceSearch. You can also regard VoiceSearch as a little something for those who are dying to get their hands on Siri and cannot do so with their early released iPhones.

To get VoiceSearch working, you must have Activator. Watch the video below and I will tell you more about VoiceSearch after the break.

Now that you have seen how VoiceSearch works, I’d like to tell you there are a few downsides to it. To start with, VoiceSearch can only be used to help you with your search via Google and cannot be used to find information on your phone. Unlike Siri, VoiceSearch does not detect when you are done talking which means you would have to tap the done button when you are done talking. Other than that, I think VoiceSearch works just fine.

If you are willing to give VoiceSearch a try, then you can get it at the Cydia Store via the BigBoss repo where it is available as a free download.
